We believe the key to great support happens when people invest in learning, and that we should be putting things that help in place early.
Through consultation of our families and wider stakeholders, we have developed our new training mode – Theory-Practice-Evaluate.
What Will I Learn?
Session 1
Theory – We will deliver an information session on the general understanding of autism, how we can look beneath what we see to realise the underlying reasons and what this may mean for our children and young people.
Session 2
Practice – Building on the theory we learned in session 1, we will now think how we can use this information to individualise this to each child/young person and to start to think about practical strategies that can be implemented to help us support our young people.
Session 3
Evaluate – In our final session we will discuss some more practical advice but also have a chance to think about the strategies we will try moving forward, any challenges we feel we might have in implementing any change and a general Q&A on autism with our trainers.
