Angie and Elaine were delighted to attend Ardvreck School in Crieff today to deliver staff training on supporting autistic pupils, as part of their inset day training before the new term starts for them tomorrow.
This is the second independent school we have delivered training to in the last month and we are so pleased to see the independent school sector taking the opportunity to upskill staff, consolidate the knowledge they already know and hopefully learn some new skills! We delivered a session with a basic introduction to autism, we then had a think about some of the challenges autistic pupils may face both in the classroom setting and as boarders. Focusing on a mindset that may be less flexible, the reasons for this and information on emotional regulation, we ended the session with a Q&A with the 26 staff attending.
